I have here those same pages as posted before, but in full color and with text. Coloring and lettering was done by my friend (and co-creator of the comic), Dave Reynolds. Enjoy.
Finally, a new post on this blog. As I've mentioned quite often on my main blog, Sir Meets World, I got a great chance to do some work for my friends' comic "ShadowGirls". Now that the comic is wrapping up its circulation time on the ShadowGirls site, I will post the pages here. This first post is the cover and the nine page story in black and white, sans text, just art. Tomorrow I will post the full color pages with text. Enjoy.
In preparation for a short story I wrote (involving a ninja), I am figuring out the visual look for that story/world. I want to use zipatone (it'll be digital zipatone) to help flesh out some of the grays and add some painterly effects to the illustrations. If you aren't familiar with zipatone, find out more info here. In short though, to practice using the zipatone in drawings, I needed some drawings to practice this technique on. Well, I failed at using the zipatone much more than I thought I would, plus I got anxious to post, so here are the cartoons anyway sans zipatone. These little drawings were dug up out of my brain. They have nothing to do with the story I am working on, I just wanted to make some cute, humorous illustrations of a ninja that just can't seem to get a break. Hope you enjoy.
My friend Rob Fendler and I worked on a new show coming out this fall called Making Fiends. I was so delighted to work with a good friend on a project. But all good things come to an end and we had to part ways professionally for now. I made him this comic as a 'goodbye and great working with you' gift.
This blog is to simply showcase any comic book/strip art in its entirety. This blog will not get posts often like my main blog Sir Meets World, only when I finish a story. So cheers and enjoy whatever you may see.
I grew up in Louisiana (I love that state). I went to school in Michigan (I don't quite love that state). Now I live in Los Angeles working in animation. The one constant was that I was always drawing--AND THEY PAY ME TO DO IT!!.
